In addition to the Common Rules, these rules apply to Minor B:

Minor B Rules

• No bunting – we want the kids to learn how to hit at this level and the fielders won’t be equipped to handle bunts.

• Only the player at bat can hold a bat.  Players that are “on deck” and “in the hole” cannot take practice swings or even touch a bat. This is to prevent injuries.

• Players cannot lead off.  They must stay on the base until the pitch crosses home plate. The umpires usually catch lead offs and players are returned to their base or called out.

• Players can advance on a passed ball/wild pitch (there will be a lot of them) except from third to home. See next bullet.

• IMPORTANT: Players cannot advance to home plate (i.e. steal home) on a passed ball/wild pitch.  They must stay at third.  Games will become all about runs scored in this manner without this rule and kids won’t learn the game.

• Standard Minor distance is 46 feet. National players pitch will pitch from 40 feet.

• No balks

• ​No walks, after the 4th ball, the player will hit off the tee to put the ball in play.
