Rowan's Law

Rowan’s Law Effective July 1, 2019

The Rowan’s Law concussion awareness rules came into effect in the Province of Ontario on July 1, 2019. After that date, sports organizations must not register athletes under 26 years of age* into a sports activity unless they, as well as their parent (for athletes under 18), provide confirmation that they have reviewed one of the Concussion Awareness Resources within the previous twelve months.

Registration

A player's registration is only complete at time of payment. The league can opt to not put a player on a team until payment is received.

NSF Cheques

A $25 service fee will apply to all cheques returned for insufficient funds. The Registrar will inform the cheque writer by phone and email upon receipt of the NSF cheque. The registration fee plus service fee must be repaid by money order or cash to the Registrar within 1 week of being contacted. After that week, the child will not be allowed on the field for games or practices until their registration fee is paid.

To contact the Registrar, please send an email to: registrar@owll.ca.

Tax Receipts

Tax receipts are available under the Registration section and can be printed at any time.

Refunds

Refund requests must be sent by email to the Registrar at: registrar@owll.ca. If a player withdraws from the program before the second scheduled game, an administrative fee of $25.00 will be charged.  No refunds will be issued after the second scheduled game.

Injured Players

Players who are injured after they register but before the start of the season and are unable to play for the season, will be given a full fee refund.

Privacy Policy

Each Little League in Canada must adhere to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act that became fully in force on January 1, 2004.

The OWLLBA privacy policy is based on the Little League Privacy Policy that was written to answer questions you might have about this issue. As a youth organization, we are very concerned about privacy. Therefore, we have taken measures to tailor our content and offerings to help protect an individual’s privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected on our website and our official pages on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).

Friend Request Policy

  1. Siblings: Siblings will always be placed on the same team unless otherwise requested (this applies to ALL levels).  However, if the siblings do not evaluate to the same tier, the higher-tier sibling will be moved to the lower tier as it would be unsafe to place a lower-tiered player in the higher tier. If time allows, the parents of the players will be contacted to ask if they would like to have their children play on different teams to allow each to play in the tier in which they are evaluated. Once again, player swaps are made to maintain comparable overall team evaluation totals. While you do not need to explicitly state a friend request for siblings, it is always best to do so.

  2. Friend Requests: The convenor will record all the friend requests, highlighting the reciprocal requests. Only reciprocal requests will be honoured. If the players in the reciprocal friend request did not evaluate to the same tier, the friend request will not be honoured as we will not move players up or down based on friend requests.  If time allows, the parents of the player evaluated to the higher tier will be contacted to ask if they are willing to move their child down to honour the friend requests.
